Adapting Your Life To The ‘New Normal’
The pandemic has changed our lives forever in more ways than one. For a start, it’s proved that it is possible to work from home successfully, as well as how much better life is without that stressful, expensive, time wasting commute to the office. It’s saved me money, I’m more relaxed, I’ve got more leisure time and most importantly I’ve been able to spend more quality time with my family.
I joined Utilitrack just over 18 months ago and I’ve never looked back. Like everyone, when I was looking for a franchise I was cautious. I didn’t want to make a mistake and with so much choice out there I found it really difficult to choose.
I wanted a company with a stable and proven franchise model that would allow me to work with people I wanted to work with and gave me a better work life balance, whilst at the same time maintaining and improving my earning potential. Utilitrack offered that and so much more, but because their model is so simple it almost sounds too good to be true.
Attending the Utilitrack Discovery Day clarified everything for me and made that decision easy for me. The directors were open and honest about the challenges I might face, but equally reassuring about the opportunities and the support I’d get. I particularly liked that, as well as their transparency about what other franchisees had achieved.
Even so, when I’d made my decision I was still a little apprehensive at first. Had I made the right choice? What would it be like? I needn’t have worried at all, they made it so easy for me to take control of my life in the way I’d always wanted, that my only regret is I wish I’d done it sooner.
It’s gone so well that Utilitrack asked me to make this video to help others understand what’s involved.
Although I knew nothing about the commercial utility business, that didn’t matter and it wasn’t a barrier to me joining. All Utilitrack wanted from me was passion, the right attitude and commitment and they’ve done the rest.
The training and ongoing support I’ve received has been exceptional and has allowed me not only to grow my business, but to grow in confidence as a person.
I’m not a salesman, so the fact that we offer a free consultancy service to our clients suits me perfectly. It ensures my clients get the best advice on their utilities spend, because I’m consulting, not selling.

The Utilitrack administration team produce a simple, easy to understand market report for my clients with competitive rates from a panel of suppliers. The report is tailored to my client’s requirements and in most cases includes their current supplier, enabling them to make an informed decision about which supplier to choose. And because a switch isn’t always necessary, there’s no pressure.
I’ve been able to build a business by merely using the contacts that I’d already gathered throughout my life and working with people who know, like and trust me. That business has not only improved my work/life balance, but also allowed me to accumulate passive income that will grow year on year.
As I continue to add new clients, that income will grow and compound. In my first year, I’ve already generated an income for the next 3 years that matches what I was earning as an employee and it’s so rewarding to know that this will only increase beyond my wildest expectations. What’s more it’s proved to be recession proof and the current pandemic hasn’t been a barrier to growth, because businesses will always need gas and electricity.
The fact that I no longer need to waste time and money commuting back and forth to an office has also given me a quality of life I’d only ever dreamed of.
