Meet Steve from Clear Brew Romford

We have recently spoken to Steve, who established Clear Brew Romford in 2022. Here he discusses the path that led him to Clear Brew, shares his thoughts on life as franchisee, and expresses his goals moving forward with the business.

What did you do previously, before becoming a business owner with Clear Brew Ltd?

I worked in the motor industry since I left school. I was on the service side in management, so customer focus was my ‘number 1’ priority.

What made you consider investing in a franchise with Clear Brew? 

I had been looking at franchises for a few years. When I found Clear Brew, it sounded the prefect option because of my service background.

What has been your best business achievement in the past year? 

My best achievements in the past year are simply believing in myself, achieving my goals and seeing what I have built in one year.

What do you like about the Clear Brew business model, has it lived up to your expectations?

What I like about the Clear Brew model is that everything provided by head office is designed and there for you to start your own business and everything I have been told or taught is true.

What difference are you making to businesses that you service in your local community?

I am ensuring the businesses that I service maintain consistent standards, I take away the stresses and time taken in cleaning out their beer lines and I ultimately increase their profits.

Please tell me about the support you have within the Clear Brew franchise network.

The support I have within the Clear Brew Franchise is second to none. Everyone at HQ is always there to help on any issue from accounts to technical aspects. All the other Franchises are always there to support as well; it’s a fantastic team!

What have you learned most about in the past 12 months?

For me, the last 12 months have not just been about learning the business and being there for my customers, but also believing myself I can do it.

What business goals do you want to achieve in the next 12 months?

In the next 12 months I am aiming to to double my customers and employ a second pair of hands.

What are your interests/hobbies?

I am a massive West Ham fan, so the last week has been great! I am a season ticket holder as well. Golf is my second passion (but unfortunately not that good).

How has having a franchise with Clear Brew helped you with your work/life balance? 

I used to work 12-hour days and weekends at my previous work so this was one of the main reasons for starting. With the Clear Brew franchise my work/life balance is exactly now where I want it to be. I have very early starts, but that is prefect for me as I am a morning person.
